White Papers

information today seems to be self-service and extensive dissemination. Christian Capurro speaks of a culture obsessed with the notion of visibility. " But do we know yet what we want to hear or read, do we know yet if the information is gives us are true? Do we know yet what we seek, and where to look?

Several of my work require to make an effort to read. Decryption. Some remaining legible, others to the very edge of the visible. White Papers may seem far from empty, and yet they are filled with texts. In the limit of readable.

Download the project file

Inventory gleaned graffiti in neighborhoods Noisiel, transcribed, accrued, projected in the heart of La Ferme du Buisson in the Festival Temps d'Images 2007.

Graffiti is a Latin word derived from Greek graphein: write.
Graffiti project is a written record, remanipulée; the written record, rewritten, recreating a new set, a new rhythm.
The trace that fades, the track covered, buried, rediscovery, finding a way distorted by time.
Graffiti, silent scream, left by a shadow, a sign of hidden presence.
On the wall, projected silhouettes and traces mingle, overlap, giving life to this area, in constant evolution. Returning the gesture dictated by the graffiti, the silhouettes create a true choreography of writing.
Shade is a boundary between what is hidden and what is visible. Here a transition space between the heart of La Ferme du Buisson and its surrounding neighborhoods.

What was originally planned as an in situ installation in which the audience could mingle its shadow projection has become a mere projection.

(model photo installation)

Scheduled to be projected into a billboard on the streets of Noisiel, this video was finally projected within the walls of La Ferme du Buisson, on the facade of a building.

Near the projection source, at a place of passage, was available maps of the district offering a journey to see the graffiti used for video, or what was left. One can also find the locations and the original photos on the googlemap created for this project at this address: www.graffiti.eur.st (this address is no longer valid, new address:) http://graffiti . echoz.com /

Toad Meticulous and Marmoset Ravaged

He was in a distant land and land , a toad and a meticulous marmoset devastated.
One as the other was the bearer of memory, one with his brushes, the other with his watering.
One wrote, sang the other, although different methods, each of the two danced.
While the marmoset said "You must write!", Toad, He preferred to remember.
The marmoset was day to write the history in the light illuminated, the toad was night, to bring out the dark shadows of the past.
decide between the two would be tough, and this tale recounts the battle of chiaroscuro.
To find which of them was right, they wanted to let people see it their way. The marmoset
far from here, the crowd would judge the Pantheon, the toad in his cabin, the regulars would come. The

trip to Rome was hard, but it clearly was worth the bill. The marmoset
waited for the light to spread its rolls, and once it was ready and went out sword brushes.
Pointe and ink, small lively gestures and fine old buildings he scratched, he painted on the reels.
When the trance came to an end, he simply went his way.
As only interested in history, he had not noticed any, and his story, why he left, he had forgotten everything.

As for our toad, which was a bit manic, as usual, waited for the evening to create the pool.
He created a lake with his watering can, and took out his lighter so we could see him.
And her clear voice and her dancing on the waves choppy, jingling her bracelets, made the stories of the past resurface.
But he had not seen or even suspected, he did not know, he could not tell.

One would not stop, the other remained in the past.

dint of writing, we forget to remember.
But too tell, we forget to move forward.

Room Words No. 2, La Salle Transcript

A square room with white walls, about seven meters by seven Ceiling height is approximately three meters. In this room is a young girl dressed in black. It uses a long pole at the end of which hangs a brush to write on the wall right when entering the room. On the left of this wall, about one meter from the wall with which it forms an angle, there is a door. It is about two meters high and one meter wide. This door is painted white, like the wall. This door has a lock, about one meter above the ground on the right side of the door, but no handle. Above the lock is a hole through which one can see the other side of the door, and above the hole, another smaller hole. At the bottom of the door, a metal reinforcement, another in the lock, and another over the holes, each plate is painted white. About two meters from wall that forms an angle with it on his right, one can see a piece of wood on the wall against the wall vertically, from floor to ceiling. At the bottom of this wooden bar, on [his] left to eight inches of soil, is an outlet. The girl in black con [tinues] to write. She wrote up to write at the top of the wall, she now writes on his knees. Beside her, a bucket of black ink. This wall is now covered with black words.

The girl in black took the bucket of ink and made a path around the room to come and ask the center about the wall on which the girl in black is writing these words. The bucket is about one meter from the wall. Outside, the wind blows. In the wall located opposite to it in the back of the black girl who continues to write, there are windows, the only part. That's where the light is coming from the room. People walking in the hallway behind the wall. Someone enters the room next door, right when facing the wall. A man and [woman to come], who began to speak. The man leaves. On the other side of the wall in the other room, someone pressed the switches. The room in which the girl wrote in black lights. The light now comes in most of the ceiling. On the left of this wall, one meter from the corner, two metal pipes out of the ground, running vertically along the wall to about one meter above the ground. The ends are bent at right angles. About a meter on the right of the pipes, on the same wall is a door. It's a double-wing door, one of whose wings is fixed, the right when reading these lines. A drill noise is heard, covering the noise of the brush, then stops. On more than one meter from the door on his right is a window sentenced by a thick wooden plaque on which words are written. This wall is now black words.

In the same way as the previous wall, the girl in black moved the bucket near the wall, center, away from the wall a little over a meter . Someone turned off the light. Now the light comes from windows in the wall right by reading these lines. On this wall are all asked about fifty meters of wood planks screwed to the wall, which seem to hold the entire wall in one piece. In places, the wall seems rougher, making it more difficult progression of the brush of the young black girl, who continues to write. The room is growing dark. Light downward. While the girl in black marks on the walls of words, his hands are becoming darker too. In some places, the ink of the words flowed along the wall. A ringing phone rang behind the wall opposite to that on which one can read these lines. The wind was again blowing. The young girl poses in black perch and leaves the room. The girl in black enters the room accompanied by a woman in red hair. The girl in black starts to write on the walls. The red-haired woman sat on the floor and eat. She clears her throat, digs into her bag, pulls out a book. We hear the wind blowing, the sound of brush that rubs against the wall, the sound of turning pages. A motorcycle noise, always the wind. A few drops of ink drop to the ground. This wall is now covered with words.

The girl in black took the bucket and just put it near the wall that has no words. The red-haired woman stood up and moves away from the wall where the girl in black started to write. On this wall, all about a half meters, it is seen under the paint, pieces of tape used to join the different pieces of the wall. The woman with hair [Red] arranges its affairs, leaving the center of the room for a few cakes on a white paper square, then quit. On top of that wall, all along, there are windows. A little of both meters are the curtains. On this wall not fully covered with words, you can see in places bugs, holes and scratches. There are some fingerprints. Ground along the wall, drops fell from the brush. The light continues to decline, as the girl in black continues to darken the walls of the room with words. The wind blows, the rotating propeller embedded in the window on the right facing the wall, about one meter in the corner. At the corner left of this wall is a wooden bar with a square base of about two centimeters by two. As the girl in black writing, this wall is now covered with words.

The girl in black stopped writing, setting its big brush horizontally on the bucket, takes the cake placed in the center of the room, lots. The girl in black enters the room, closes the door. She takes the brush and wrote on the ceiling. The ceiling is covered with strips of paper stapled to about one meter wide, and lengths. To the left of the ceiling in the direction of reading the paper strips are narrower. Above the "e" meaning the line above exceeds a nail. Ceiling lamps are not covered with paper. There are six lamps rectangular four feet in twenty or forty centimeters. Each has two tubes. The lamps are lit. A young girl with short hair and holding a paint roller opens the door, speak, and then goes away. Someone types in the door and it opens. Two people enter, up behind the girl in black who continues to write, speak in whispers. Then they move into the room, reading the words on the walls. Then they return to put in the back of the girl in black. A sound of a lawn. Two people come and open the door without a handle on the back of the girl in black. The two who were whispering out. The other two people out of the room behind the door without handle with a large carpet rolled across the room and exit through the other door. Both doors were left open. The girl in black continues to write. The ink drop on her face and brush along the church qur his hands and arms. Someone comes in, closes the door to the left of the ceiling in the direction of reading. In the hallway behind the door, a noise gate, then another. The wind, the sound of lawnmower stops. The ceiling lamps are arranged by two rows of three lamps. The edges of the rectangle they form are located a little over a meter of the walls of the room, which is increasingly filled with words. The bare arms of the girl in black are increasingly black. As and when the ceiling is covered with words, the ground is studded with ink stains from fallen brush. Since the girl wrote on the ceiling, the bucket of ink is located near the center of the room. The left tube of the lamp in the second row of three in the direction of the reading was off the ceiling. The wall facing the black girl who continues to write on the ceiling is hung with an iron bar from the ceiling pieces that push the limit, which is now covered with black words.

Someone opened the door and turned off the light. The girl in black has stopped writing. She puts her pencil and looks at the ground. Then she takes his brush and begins to write. She writes on the floor of the room. A young girl with short hair between noiselessly into the room, watching the walls. Someone shouts. The young [girl] out, talking, and then retracting into the room with words. It moves silently toward the door without a handle covered with words that is located behind the girl in black who continues to write and the farm without noise. She walks into the room and look at the words on the walls. Then silently, it appears, closing the door quietly behind [it]. The brush rubs against the floor. That [it] is covered with a thin veil taped to the floor. Throughout, one can see the original floor, which we guess traces of paint, traces of tape, which overlap the ink stains the brush fell from the girl in black. The door opens noisily. The girl in black starts, continues to write. A man finds himself in the opening and rests a hand on the wall, the other on the doorknob. He looks at the text written on the ground seems to go, closing the door slightly, then returns to the previous position. Then he goes on to say something, shut the door. Light downward. It is increasingly black. The room is almost completely filled with words. The hands of the girl in black are completely black. The wind begins to blow. In the distance, shouting. A slight ray of light passes through the windows to the right of the girl in black as she wrote, then disappears. Scotch on the ground, the ink looks darker. The sails on which the girl all black writing words are divided into six sections of equal size, divided into two three-sided in the longitudinal direction. Are added along the wall where the door double-leaf covered with words, to the left of these lines in the direction of reading, two smaller sections to complete. Near the wall towards which progress these words, the ink flowed down the bucket, form [ing] an arc of cercle.La room is now completely filled with words.

Projections

La Salle Projections, June 2008

This room is the second piece presented to my DNSEP.

An empty room in the dark. Three light showers skates, which are actually projections. On the ground, these projections are white rectangles. In each rectangle, black lines appear to move, but everything is blurry. In a corner of the room, a table on which there are blank books. When the observer takes a book and puts it under a shower of light, he can see what is projected. These are texts appearing, disappearing, fluctuating, each projection is different. These texts are excerpts from books and texts on the net with the subject's attitude reading compared to the Net, content, verification of information, its influence on memory.

Words No. 1 Transcription

A rectangular white piece of six meters wide and twelve meters long. A girl takes a picture. On the left facing the wall, a door opened or closed as people enter or leave. Every fifty meters on the wall, cross bars of wood or hide tape separations wooden plates that form the walls of the room. A man and a woman, then a young girl enter the room. The girl is at the door. The other two people traverse a curve to come look at the words that a young girl dressed in black trying to trace the [wall] ink flows sometimes fall from the brush, run under the letters on the wall. In writing, the girl traces invisible lines on the floor. The wall is gran uleux. Amid the wall a few inches of soil, a telephone, the slim protection is damaged. At a little over a meter to his right looking at the wall outlet Couran t, which applies also damaged. Right corner of the wall, a plank of wood runs from floor to ceiling. Along the ceiling, on the vertical wall also runs a thin wooden board, or a piece of metal. In some places under the white paint, traces of scratches, holes filled. The wall is not completely [blank]. Can be seen in some places traces of dirt which are added the words and dripping ink. Along this wall, the floor was covered tasks. The room is empty except for the girl in black . You can hear noises outside, play [ties] screaming, sounds of ball, a door slamming. The rectangular room with walls less [fewer] white output only the sounds of brush that rubs against the wall and displacement of the girl in black writing.

The girl moved to face the blank wall next to the wall covered with words. The room is actually smaller than the measurements on the wall to the left of this wall when the look ahead. This wall to the left when viewed in front, a door painted in white. Another door is at its right end. Beside the door to the left, his right is a window convicted. On top of this window, painted white, is, is aligned with the top of the door. The lower edge of the window is about five feet from the ground. It is about two feet high and one meter long. A young girl enters, speaks to the girl in black. The girl who just entered the room described by walking a few curves in the room with walls less and less white. The girl stops at a given point of its trajectory. While taking photos, she speaks. Then she appears. To the right of the wall, looking across there to the left of the door therein, a rectangular column that rises from floor to ceiling. While the girl continues to fulfill the word wall, the room darkens. Someone talking on the phone. While the girl in black writing his hands turn black. The door to the left of the wall facing it opens, then closes. The room is empty except for the girl in black writing on the walls, his brush, ink is pail, and the walls are covered with words, the description of the room. The door opens. Two people enter, walk a few steps, stop and stare at walls. This wall has holes, like the wall located to the left when facing it. To the left of the right door, and right of the left door, being the face of this wall is the switches. Next to the column in the wall to the right of the wall facing it, someone asked a water bottle on the floor. Around this bottle, the ground is dotted with ink stains. There are all along this wall and along the left wall of it, drops falling from the brush soaked with ink, like the girl in black writing. A young girl enters, asks a question, made some rapid strides in the room, then quickly spring. The girl in black is not responding. She continues to write a description of the piece on the walls of the room. In some places the wall, you can see shoe prints. The girl in black is now on his knees to write down this wall. The ink of the words from the bottom of this wall appears lighter, slightly, than the words written at the top of the wall. At the bottom of this wall, a baseboard. At the bottom of the doors of iron reinforcement. This wall is now covered with words. The

girl took the bucket, and carried a curved path to face the wall, located to the right of that to which she just finished writing. This wall is cut into sections of a little over a meter in the vertical direction. To the left of the wall facing him, the separation is hidden by a strip of wood, the base is a rectangle about an inch on both. This wall, like two others already covered with words, full of small hills and small holes camouflaged by white paint. From outside the room just a slight buzz, a thump of falling object, a door that closes, the sound of a truck backing. The ink drips are becoming more numerous on the wall and the ground is increasingly dotted with black spots along this same wall. This wall is now half full of words. The play continues to darken. A person enters, speaks, takes pictures, then leaves the room. Another person opens the door, creating a gentle stream of air. She enters the room if [len] cieusement, a few steps, stops. On the left side of the wall facing him, some letters are already registered, raised the left wall. The truck stopped outside his ring back. A person enters the room, is for the person always in the room, which responds. The second person then came hurrying out. This wall is now covered with words, black.

The man in the room out discreetly. The girl in black has now perch at arm's length, and written on the ceiling. The ink as she writes, falls in large drops on her arms, her hair, her face. Gradually, as the walls of the room, she is covered in black. A young girl enters, takes a few steps Quick, stop, take some pictures move again in a few new photos and then leaves the room, closes the door. The pole of the red girl is covered in black streaks, turns black, like the hands that hold it. The ceiling is covered with paper, on which the words gradually covering the ceiling are written. There are three rows of three lights, each composed of two tubes. After finishing the previous text line, the girl in black moved his bucket about five feet away from the wall in a straight line perpendicular to the wall. A woman opened the door furthest corner of the ceiling. The other door seems doomed. In places in the ceiling, beyond small iron hooks, there's one at the beginning of this line of text, between words and little else. A woman opens the door, asking a question between. It takes a few steps to cross the room, and comes to the post near the wall farthest from the door opening behind the girl in black writing. A young girl enters so loud, talking, quickly moves around the room to take pictures and then off again. On leaving, she slammed the door. The time of silence, two other young girls come, talk, stand out. The young girl growing black continues to write on the ceiling. The woman placed in the back of the girl more and more black moves towards the door and leaves. The words continue to appear on the ceiling. Line after line. The writing is less regular. It is increasingly bleak. The ceiling is half full of words. A young girl in a cap opens the door, exclaims, talking to the girl more and more black. The young girl growing black answered a few words while continuing to write to the ceiling, then falls silent. The young girl observes the cap a little from the door, then goes away, closing the door. The light falls more and more. As it moves to the line, the girl advanced the bucket of ink from a meter or two on me [me] perpendicular to the wall that is in the back of the girl more and more black. A young girl opens the door, asks a question, a few steps into the room, stares at the wall to which the girl more and more black faces and then spring. The girl almost tripped over the bucket black ink, which does not spill. In places in the ceiling, the brackets interfere with the progression of the brush, as well as lights and cross bars located under the paper. A group of people open the door, enter, whispering, then quiet. We hear footsteps, sounds of paper, someone who is coughing, a click of the camera. People go out one by one in the room. Some stayed, while again a group enters the room. To the right of the ceiling, in the sense of reading, and almost above the door, a defect in the paper can see that there is a hole in the ceiling. Gradually, the room is empty, the light gradually decreases. The girl is now only in black and the ceiling

is covered with words. Someone opens the door but does not, then between every few seconds. Another person follows her silently. A third enters, speaks with the first. The bucket is located about eight feet of wall that faces us when we read these lines. There is even less light than previously. The floor is covered with a lightweight and transparent. The floor is made of plastic slabs of a very light gray with small black streaks. It is also re [covered] paint job in places. The coating material is also covered tasks. What are the ink drops that fell from the brush when the young black girl wrote on the walls and ceiling. A man opened the door and entered the room very dark walls, ceiling, covered the description of the room. The description also covers part of the floor now. Man is situated opposite the door, then along the wall, along the sides of paper to the corner, stops, looks. The room darkens quickly, there will soon be nothing to see. You can hear a few passing cars, the sound of stools that scrape the floor with laughter. The man moves silently to the door, opened it gently. A stream of light passes through the door. The man stops, leaving the door open for a while and then shut the door. It is now very dark. Fine rays of light are drawn on the contour of the two doors in the room, and ordered the window on the left wall when you read his lines. The ground is half covered with words. The room in the dark becomes unreadable. A young girl enters the room, took a flash picture, then another. It's dark. The girl who just entered the girl and now leave the room completely dark. The light is there again. The girl in black enters the room, and starts writing on the ground. Three quarters of the ground are covered with words. A young man followed the girl in black in the room continues to fill with words. It moves many in the room and takes photos. He traveled the four corners of the room, crouches, stands up, taking photos. He sneezes, blows his nose, walked to the door and leaves. The girl in black continues to write. The closer it is the wall that is behind it, the more room is filled with words. The soil here is more than the opposite constellation of ink blots that fell from the words written on the ceiling. These tasks disappear beneath the words that the girl in black continues to write. The young income continues to take pictures. The floor is now covered with black words.
